All hail Queen Lira!!!

F2P players! Have you used your hard earned gems in the recent rates up events? We have 3 more new units to summon, namely :

Fire Unit, Homusubi
Water Unit, Ice Keep Copra
Dark Unit, Half Blood Lira

All are top tier units!! Arghh.. but I only have limited gems!!! Ahh ... The pains of being a F2P player ... must not join the dark side! ^^

So after much deliberation, I decided to use 15 gems to try my luck and I managed to summon the following:

1st roll - Red Axe Michele

4 star / Oracle. Wow, not bad for my first roll, I think I can consider forming a rainbow team now. lol
Again, Unit over type  ... Unit over type.

2nd roll - Eight Blade Sefia !!!!
3 star / Guardian

I was shock when I saw this unit!! Never mind the type as her 6 star form is really worth looking forward too! I am v v satisfied now, it certainly made my day =)

Just look at that 6 star form for Sefia! =O

My 3rd and final row .... Half Blood Lira !!!

4 star / Lord
Gosh, can't believe my luck! A Lira in my 3rd and final row!
The lord type really makes her stats v v balance. She kicks ass in arena too (but I reckon u need at least 2 to feel her powerful presence)

And with this, Lira makes it to my first team (for normal questing). replacing God Tree since I don't really need healing for normal quests. =D

My current first team - Lots of leveling up to do for my Alice and Lira. XD

Don;t rush to evolve all your key units into their their 6 star form ... unit cost consideration!

Recently I managed to farm all the necessary evo materials to evolve my alice into her final form - Hell Keep Alice =D

How I wish i got a guardian or anima type. =x

Alright, can't really complain much. For a F2P player, unit is always > type. lol

I guess her offense and her attack cum healing SBB will be very useful to me in the long run. =)

Next, I immediately regret evolving Alice... as I just realize that I don't have enough unit cost to deploy her in my team!!! Arghzz!!

My unit cost exceeds by 1 if I add Alice in. ;_;

Condolences to myself. =(

I can only quickly go and level up so that I can have the required unit cost to add her back into my first team. =(

So I did 4 summons during the recent rate up event and I managed to get ...

I think my luck is not too bad this time round, not really the units I want but at least I've got no duplicates and the thunder bird!

Gotten the following using 20 precious gems. ;_;

Roll #01

Lava Phoenix/4 Star/Lord

Another healer unit added to my team! While it is quite a good unit, I don't think it is sufficient for me to replace my trusted God tree with this unit. ^^

Roll #02

Sky Angel Kushra/4 Star/Anima

Woah! A solid unit for my mono thunder team (still WIP)!
Her leadership skill and BB will definitely make her a popular unit for the coming frontier seasons!

At 5-star, her Leadership skill nullifies all status ailments ... and her BB is a 10 combo powerful Thunder attack on all enemies & boost to BC drop rate for 3 turns. =O

Roll #03

Gunner Douglas/3 Star/Anima

Yes! I finally gotten one unit!! Remember what I said on the earlier post on how good this unit is!
I wanted to get at least 2 but I decided to conserve my gems for the further units. As a F2P gamer, you got to make sure you don't go crazy and use all your gems in one event =x

Roll #04

Champion Aem/4 star/Anima

I stop here when I drew this unit. I know I shouldn't be pushing my luck any more ... lol
Aem is a decent unit but like Alice, his defense is too weak and will probably be the first to die if I put him in my team. =x

So, what I can I say, overall I am quite happy with my pulls. Would have been better though, if I can just get one more douglas. Must resist and not use anymore gems! ^^

Rare Summon up for the most powerful unit yet in Brave Frontier!!

For a limited period, from 6-8 Jun 14, 16:59 PST, Brave Frontier has up the rates for the following units!

Fire God Lava
Commander Mega
Gun God Douglas
Goddess Emilia
God Knight Will
Scythe God Alice

These are a set of good units so if you have some gems, I reckon now's the time to use them! XD

Everyone's going crazy over Douglas. It is indeed a solid unit ... His SBB can hit every unit 30 times!
If you ever need proof why this unit is so imbal then you ought to check out this video clip.

However, if you don't have the luxury of owning so many Douglas, fret not ... the Serins are capable of doing the same job as Douglas too! OKOK, the hit/spark counts are a lot lower but it's really not too bad considering you can farm her for free earlier on. =)

The Sibyl Sisters Series - Paula ... I got lucky!

Today has got to be my lucky day. I managed to capture Paula within one try! =D

Best of all, she is an anima type! lol

Again, I got to mention that the Sibyl Sisters units are at best collector's item. As their stats are quite weak, my advise remains the same, just complete lv 4 dungeon if you can for the gems.

Personally, I felt that Paula's dungeon has got to be the easiest to clear. She don't hit like a truck and I don't see her spamming BBs on me. (Guess I got lucky lol)

Oh, do remember to bring along some holy water for the fight. Her BB can inflict curse status on your team. =x

The Sibyl Sisters Series - Eliza

So we have the 2nd unit from the Sibyl Sisters series in the vortex dungeon today. Have you managed to capture this cool looking unit?

As usual, Lv 4 is tough as hell. It is still manageable if you have a well leveled team. I think it's actually good if all your units have HP of at least 5,000. You need to bring along antidotes too as her BB can inflict poison status on your units. =x

Managed to capture Eliza after running the level 4 dungeon 3 times! Boy, was I lucky. Running level 4 is really very straining on me... lol

I got myself a guardian type ... not too bad but she's probably not going to be in my first team as her stats even at 5 star is really underwhelming. ^^

The Sibyl Sisters Series - Freya ... worth your time?

If I were to summarize it in one word, No.

It's not worth to spend your energy on Freya, the first unit under the Sibyl Sisters Series.

Freya is not a top tier unit. Her stats are at best mediocre and will not be in your first team for long. She is more like a collector's item.

However, I would still recommend that you try to clear the level four dungeon for the gem! =)

I was able to clear it today with my almost dark mono team and managed to capture Freya after 2 tries. ^^

To manage the level 4 dungeon, I would recommend a team of 5* units (level max)

I hadn't try to clear the dungeon with a rainbow team but any mono team less earth and dark elements should be able to clear the level 4 dungeon. 

I would also recommend bringing along Ores and seal as you will be needing the boost in attack and defense in your battle against Freya. 

You need a healer too as despite her weak stats, she hits like a truck. =x

If you are in need of paladin or fate stone, this is actually a good chance to stock up on them in this dungeon. Additionally, there is a small chance that you can capture Fire god and burst frog too!

So summoners! Good luck on clearing this dungeon and capturing Freya!

New patch coming to Brave Frontier Global in Jun 2014?

I happened to chance upon this piece of news via United Gamers Network. It seems that Gumi has some yummy updates for us in the month of Jun!!

New Maps to clear ... Goddess Dungeons ... new 6 star units .... Yippee!

Very excited over this update as I can finally evolve my Alice into her 6-star version! =D

New Rare Summons in Brave Frontier!!

Oh yes! Finally, we have 3 new units to summon today!!

Ready your hard earned gems to roll the following beastly units! XD

White Unit - Lubradine
I heard that this is an imbal unit if you evolve it to 6 stars. ^^
Possibility an excellent leader unit if you are leading a BB spamming team. (Serin ..Douglas )
PRAY hard you get this unit when doing the rare summon!!

Earth Unit - Great Golem
Looks like a very Tanky unit and an excellent addition if you are running an earth mono team.
The leadership skill is also quite useful tho I wish it's 30% up all units attack and defense.
Overall a good to have unit! The best type for this unit appears to be an Oracle given it's abysmal rec stats. =x

Thunder Unit - Rebel Angel Elsel
Well balanced, decent unit for the thunder team!
Just look at her leadership skill and BB! Couldn't ask for more ... XD
I have a feeling that she will be a popular unit in the next Frontier Hunter Season 4!
So ... PRAY hard you get this unit when doing the rare summon!!  =P

Hmm, given that I have only limited gems ... I guess I will just roll once to see if I can get any of the 3 units above. 

Edit : OK, so I didn't went on to do a rare summon after hearing lotsa of people complaining that the chances of getting these 3 units are quite low despite the rate up! =X

Got Gems to spare? Good chance to get a premium healer now!!

If you have been following the updates over at Brave Frontier's Facebook the past few days,  you will know that now is your chance to get one of the best healer in Brave Frontier! - Elimo!

So I gave in to temptation and went roll 5 times. I got to say the desire sensor is at work again. =(

As I got the following :

Loch (anima) - OK. No complains here as this is one of the best thunder unit in Brave Frontier currently. ^_^
Lancia (Oracle) - If only this was Elimo !!!!! A decent unit but ... why!!! =(
Edea (Lord) - No complains too as this is one of the better earth units. Great stats though the only problem with her is that her BB hits only a single enemy... a little wasted I guess. =\
Pixy Leore (Oracle) - Summon rates up for Earth units eh? Might make a good rainbow leader but the defense is seriously lacking.

So, in summary, if you already have a premium healer, LEARN from my mistake. DO NOT do the summon now. Silly me for trying the summon now since I already have Altris as my healer.

However, if you really have lots of gems to spare, then by all means go ahead! All the 3 units Elimo, Lancia, Loch are all very decent units to have in your team. =)

BTW, these 3 units can eventually be evolved into 6-star units!

Finally clear Frontier Hunter Ex Season 3 End 3!!

After 3 Frontier Hunter seasons, I am very happy to announce that I have finally cleared End 3 with a humble score of 680k ...

... and as a result, I have my first Medulla Gem! =)

You might want to know how I managed to clear it and I did it with the following set up.

Long post but do bear with me. =)

My team :

Unholy Magress (Leader) / Guardian / Level 100 / Soul Spear
I know most people frown when their Magress' type is a Guardian. I used to think like that too, but having use it, I think it's not a bad type. Makes it more tanky and the Soul Spear actually complements him quite well. I do encounter occasions whereby Magress gets heal up to 20K when he unleashes his SBB! =O

I set him as a leader. reason been Magress not only provides 50% attack boost to the dark units but also a 10% increase in HP for dark units which is very useful.

2 X Kikuri /Anima and Oracle/ Level 80 / Medulla Gem and Scared Jewel
I rely on these 2 units heavily as they are my main offense. They provide the much needed fire power for my mono dark team. In addition, their attack animation makes it easy to spark hence generating enough battle crystals for team. Try to level up their BB  too, you will need that attacking power to take down units quickly.

1 X Alice / Level 80 / Scared Jewel
Alice forms the 4th member for my team. She is also my weakest link at the moment due to her almost non-existence defense. (lol) Her attack is definitely one of the best in my team but she usually goes down after 2-3 chops from the enemy units. =(

Praying hard that her 6-star form comes soon so that she will not be a liability for my team. ^^

1 X Alpha Tree Altri / Guardian / Level 78 / Burney Stone
Final and most important member in my team. =)
Altri charges his BB quite rapidly, feels like I can always heal within 1-2 turns and that is very important to me. His BB also removes all status ailments so your team can continue to wack the enemies with a peace of mind. Lastly, the Guardian type makes him more tanky and durable. ^^

So how to clear End 3.

Besides having a well leveled team, (all units in your team should be at their 5 star form and at max level) you need to have a good friend unit. I STRONGLY recommend Felneus. With Felneus, I could almost unleash my BB at every turn. This is important as it helps you to rake up the points.

For each turn, where possible, deplete all the enemy units HP to approximately 5%. (I know its very very tough). It is an essential step that you need to perform so as to rake up more points.

Once ALL enemy units' HP < 5%, unleash your BB. Yes, every single unit less your healer.

You should be able to obtain quite a no of points with these steps. Try to do this for stages 1-2 where the enemies are more manageable and they don't wack that hard.

As for which set of items to take with you, I will recommend the protector set. Use the Demon Flute to your advantage. The item should allow you to use your BB every turn if you are able to generate lots of spark. =)

So ... that's it! That's how I clear End 3.

Have you evolve your beast units to their 6-star form?

Hey, do you have any of the following units?
- Phoenix,
- Malnaplis (you have this? Congrats! Prepare to see your account swarm with friends request =P)
- Eltri
- Behemoth
- Rameldria
- Lodaga

If you have any one of them, I reckon it's going to be very busy for you the next couple of days/weeks. It's time to evolve them into 6-star units now!!

The 6-star units looks very impressive so give yourself a pat if you have any of there units. I got lucky as I got Malnaplis,Eltri & Behemoth from the rare summons ... although I can only evolve Eltri ... rest are still 4 star units.- Haha, long ways to go ;_;

Anyway, Brave Frontier's Facebook has uploaded the final stats for Phoenix Reborn and Alpha Tree Eltri!

Check out how awesome they are! =D

For Phoenix and Eltri, I say go with Anima IF possible, else any other types would also be good for F2P players. ^^

Trick to doing arena in Brave Frontier

You probably know that participating in the arena gives you gems and some useful spheres each time you rank up.

The full list of items attainable in the arena can be found here.

However, the challenging part here is how one maximize the arena battle point (ABP) each time you challenge the arena. Frustrating isn't it, that the ABP after a sometimes, hard fought battle only gives you 50 ABP. ;_;

So allow me today to share with you a trick that I found on the net. - How to check out your opponents' ABP before engaging them in a battle.

The steps are really very simple, might just take a couple of tries before you get hang of it.

First of all access the arena as you would do normally...

Next, don't click on "Battle!!", instead, you tap the spot circle in red, 3 times and hit "Battle!!"

And.. profit!! Now notice beside the players' name, you will see Players' name (Player's ABP)

With this niffy little trick, you can now know your opponent's ABP before you decide to invest your arena orbs on him/her!

Oh, before I end this post, if you find yourself losing the match, just exit from the game, Brave Frontier still consumes your arena orb but it will not deduct your ABP or accord you with a defeat! ;)

People ... a chance to form a good squad without using any gems!

Are you kidding me? No, I'm not!

Gumi has recently been releasing a few good farmable units via the Vortex dungeon!

Seems that they have a tied up with Puzzle Troopers. (From what I understand, Gumi bought over this game so it's now under them)

I would suggest (or rather urge) that you focus your energy into capturing them. These are very decent units... in fact, their stats can put some of the rare summon units (thunder bird .. anyone?) to shame. ^^

If you do not want to spend your hard earn gems on the rare summon then these units (the maiden series) will be your best chance to form a decent squad.

If you do not believe in what I say, I'm sure the below will be enough to convince you! =)

Just look at those stats .... Thank you Gumi for being sooo generous to us, F2P players!

My advise is to try level 3 when farming these units ... the drop rates for level 1,2 is ..... >.<

My review on these units are strictly my own opinions. Feel free to differ if you think other wise. =)

Dark Unit : Demon Blade Lico

Best Type : Guardian

The guardian stats appears to be the most well balanced one. 

Decent attack, def and rec. 

Train and max her BB and you will have a monster in the arena. Almost one chop one kill? ^^; 

Earth Unit : Wild Slash Bayley

Best Type : Anima

Well balance stats again. Despite being an Anima, the rec is like oO; 

Her attack is high, considering that BB has a chance of poisoning the enemies. However, the disappointing part is her hit count which is only like 6 hits. 

Fire Unit : War Rocket Cayena

Best Type : Anima

What can I say, very good stats and her hit count is 12 once you evolve her to a 5-star unit. 

Can you imagine how crazy it is if you have 5 Cayena (5 star) and with friend that has an Aisha unit. =O

Water Unit : Gun Goddess Serin

Best Type : Anima

If you were to ask me, I would say try your best to farm 5 Serin. 

Don't ask me why, farm while she still can be capture and thank me later! 

I'm sure you will be convince after watching the clip (from Ushi Gaming Channel). 

Woohoo! My first 6-star unit!

Finally, Finally Finally, managed to capture all the required units to evolve my dear Magress into a 6-star unit!

His leadership skill is really useful if you are running a mono dark team. - 50% boost to Atk Power and 10% increase in HP of Dark types

If you have the time, energy and zel, you should also max out his bb too! My view is that for a F2P player, this is defintely one of the units that you like to have in your team ... but just make his type is not a "Guardian" ;_;

First Post on Brave Frontier!

Right, so I've decided to create a blog to track my Brave Frontier progress. I started playing Brave Frontier a couple of months ago. For free to play game, I say it is a pretty interesting game.
